Cyrus

Cyrus.

"Boom! You just got Cyrus'd." - Cyrus, during the Big Bang.

A recurring antagonist, the Immortal God-King of the 5th Dimension, the being with a shitload of fuckin' work to do. Any description of Cyrus will not do the entity justice.

The Great Demon of Calcutta, Cyrus's first words upon entering existence were, "Fuck off I've got work to do". Apparently lived with his 'father', another entity who appeared before him, got his first piece from him too. Safety, always off, just how Cyrus likes it, though such puny mortal weapons are generally beneath him he uses them in place of his eldritch powers in order to blend in amongst the human populace of Earth.

Character Traits

Being one of the first entities in both recorded and unrecorded existence, Cyrus has come to complete all mortal contracts, working until the day reality itself collapses, hence his signature phrase, "Fuck off I've got work to do." What this work is varies from each plane of existence, what remains the same is that somehow, someway it contributes to holding together the tethers of reality.

Work

It is well known that Cyrus is a timeless entity who came into creation for one purpose: work. No one really knows what 'work' Cyrus is referring to when he's leaving a conversation or theological debate but it is theorised that it's related to stabilising the very fabric of the universe and what lies beyond in the endless abyss. The only times Cyrus has deviated from this work schedule is when he's had to sort out some business in Sunnyvale Trailer Park, the convergence nexus point of the portals to the Netherrealm, this usually results in the situation getting progressively more chaotic to the point where Cyrus has to make a hasty exit to stabilise the ever-growing rip in the fabric of the universe: when Cyrus and those two greasy brothers make a daring assault on Sunnyvale after being unknowingly tricked by Jim 'the Law' Lahey into doing so, the assault was belayed by negotiations between the two sides but was disrupted by the two dumbasses Corey and Trevor who, due to technical issues believed to have been attributed to reality rapidly tearing itself asunder, opened fire on Cyrus and his two greasy goons, missing as the bullets themselves time-travelled to the Triassic age. A shocking example of the chaos the universe would descend into should Cyrus ever be destroyed permanently, luckily for those living on the mortal plane, Cyrus cannot be destroyed by mortal means and is only temporarily dispatched from his physical form, during this time he is able to siphon off a small portion of energy to reconstitute his body whilst maintaining reality itself.

The balance is everything.

Throughout the series, Cyrus' antagonistic ways can be seen to endanger or otherwise harm the fabric of reality, in fact this is to do with the buildup of positive and negative Chi. For example, positive Chi is accumulated over time through the Sunnyvale trailer park boys being successful in their ventures i.e. Julian's bar and its success, this positive Chi needs to be released before too much accumulates lest the universe be torn asunder through the sheer 'Chi-Weight', thus a fraction of the Chi is converted into its opposite, in this case negative Chi, this negative Chi begins a series of 'snowball' events which eventually leads to the destruction of the positive Chi generator, in this case Julian's bar being 'renovated' into a beauty salon.

Cyrus appears periodically thoughout the series at key pivotal points in order to balance out the Chi, however he has, at times, been prematurely released and shifted the balance of Chi in favour of one side accidentallyi.e. when Jim 'Alcoholic Bastard' Lahey had Cyrus released from prison with Randy acting as his vessel. Events such as these often create a paradigm: Cyrus acting too soon, the Chi becoming unbalanced, Cyrus eventually balancing the Chi, then the Chi becoming unbalanced once more through no fault of Cyrus.

Despite his Eldritch status, Cyrus does seem to have picked up some human characteristics, such as the ability to fail and make mistakes: Cyrus' time on Earth has damaged his Chi-detection skills to the point where he must act on instict alone to determine the present balance of Chi, he has lost the innate ability to know the exact level of Chi which has lead to an undoubtedly more chaotic present and an even more chaotic future yet to come. This is why Cyrus has made few appearances in the later seasons, resting in his domain outside of time and space to heal his Chi-detection ability. Cyrus is currently hoping to build up a resistance, or a cure, to the detrimental effect Earth, or more specifically Ricky, has on his mental faculties.

Whilst resting, Cyrus is still maintaining his firm hold on the fabric of reality, somewhat hindering his ability to heal quickly but preserving the known universe for the time being and halting its inevitable demise. This isn't the first reality Cyrus has maintained and it won't be the last, Cyrus has seen time itself be birthed and die again and again, and yet he still does his duty.

As Cyrus would say, "Fuck off I've got work to do."

An Unholy punishment

Legend tells of a being that even Cyrus the Indomitable fears, one who holds sway over reality, Cyrus, existence and everything beyond. This 'Being' was the one who tasked Cyrus with keeping what is known as our reality in check. Having failed this task many times before, Cyrus has been given one last chance to make amends and prove his worthiness of his titles. Should Cyrus fail again, his physical form will be permanently shattered and his very essence will be cast beyond the fringes of existence, where worse creatures than the 'Being' roam untended. This is considered a light punishment by the 'Being', considering Cyrus has been tasked with watching over and subsequently failing to maintain infinite realities before ours came to fruition. The 'Being' draws most of its displeasure over Cyrus' constant fights with mortal scum, such as Ricky and Julian. The 'Being' is also displeased with Cyrus' apparent devolution, such as his lost Chi-sense, and spends most of its time pondering whether to just annihilate Cyrus to make way for a newer, more reliable worker. Of course, to a thing like the 'Being', time is a word and nothing more, it exists in its own subdimension 'found' flitting between dimensions constantly: the subdimension itself is fragmented with these fragments constantly moving between different realities and existences, on the 'Being' can reconstruct this dimension and can shatter it again at will should any poor fool invoke its wrath on its home turf.
