The Roc-Pile

The Roc-Pile is the collective name of J-Roc's gang, frequently seen travelling or hanging out around the park

Members

Members of the Roc-Pile seem to vary from time to time, and most are never identified by name. Apart from J-Roc himself, the longest running member is T, who was a member from the very beginning and acted as his manager. Another long time member was Detroit Velvet Smooth, who met J-Roc intending to seek retribution for music piracy ("Who's The Microphone Assassin?"). The two smoothed the situation over, and DVS remained a part of the crew for some time, taking over the job of manager, but later disappearing without explanation. Often seen in the background are Mr. Green (who a drunken Jim Lahey shot in the leg in Season 11), Hydro and Mr. Finch, the other and, since J-Roc's departure, only Caucasian in the Pile.

Activities

As J-Roc is a rapper, one may assume that most of his crew are a part of his act or at least his supporters. However, since J-Roc is also occasionally involved in criminal activity, there may be some blurring of the lines when it comes to what the members of the group are actually doing.

On several occasions, it's been made clear that the Roc-Pile and its network is capable of providing all manner of services, such as drug deals ("Jim Lahey Is A Drunk Bastard"), fencing ("What In The Fuck Happened To Our Trailer Park?"), prostitution ("Rub N Tiz'zug"), bootlegging ("Temporary Relief Assistant Trailer Park Supervisor") and robbery-for-hire ("The Fuckin' Way She Goes").

It is also in the entertainment business as part of J-Roc's various porno projects ("Mr. Lahey's Got My Porno Tape", "The Bible Pimp", "Don't Cross The Shitline") and underground clubs ("I've Met Cats And Dogs Smarter Than Cory And Trevor"). Generally, whatever J-Roc is into, so too is the Roc-Pile, being instrumental in pulling off certain operations of J-Roc's design ("You Got To Blame The Thing Up Here").

Decline

For reasons unclear, the roster of the gang started to dwindle in number over time. At the point where J-Roc was involved with the airport luggage operation, there was only himself, T and perhaps one or two others ("I Fuckin' Miss Cory And Trevor"). Finally, it seemed the Roc-Pile gang was likely dissolved altogether when T fell out with J-Roc just before he hit it big with a recording contract (Trailer Park Boys: Countdown To Liquor Day). Martin Finch (Mr Finch) is an original member of the Roc-Pile, although uncredited in the series for his background roles.
