While attempting to help Ray get back on his feet, Ricky and Julian butt heads over the hash driveway and other issues.

Plot Synopsis

Teaser

At Ray's burned out trailer, the boys wake up. Bubbles looks around and laments over the trailer fire. Since he remembers being the last person to cook fries, he believes he is responsible. Ricky decides to let Bubbles take the rap, as a sign of friendship.

Act One

Julian wakes up on the couch in the living room in Lucy's trailer and takes Cory and Trevor in the car. Ray arrives at his 'home' and Bubbles apologizes for the accident. J-Roc arrives with some groceries to help him out, but they are not free and he still wants his bill paid. A scuffle ensues and Ricky sends them away.

Julian's plan for the day is a mini-crime spree to finance getting some emergency supplies for Ray. He tells Ricky to stay and watch the driveway while he does this. Ricky says helping his dad is his own responsibility, not Julian's.

Julian makes Cory and Trevor steal gumball machines from the sidewalk outside a mall. Julian 'trains' Trevor by giving him his gun to get the change out. Ricky decides to find Ray's old sleeper cab from his trucking days, and Bubbles calls Shitty Bill to haul it back to the park.

Act Two

Julian takes the change he's stolen and uses it to run a VLT scam: they will use the change to play until they win, then make photocopies of the winning ticket and cash out at multiple locations around town. They run into Ray at a strip club in the process and Julian tells him he should stop gambling.

Ricky and Bubbles steal some groceries for Ray from a place J-Roc hits, and there is another minor scuffle between the two groups. Back at the park, Jim Lahey comes snooping around, and Bubbles puts him off by selling him a tub of groceries.

J-Roc confronts Ricky again and Ricky shoots up his car, and then they are pelted by bottle kids, led by Trinity.

Act Three

Julian's crew pick up supplies for Ray, and Bubbles and Ricky set up the rig sleeper. Ray arrives, drunk, and Ricky shows him his new home. He is very grateful. Julian shows up with his offering of kitchen supplies and an army tent, and Ricky and Julian argue over who worked harder for Ray. Julian gives Ray a 40 of liquor and says it's from Ricky. The two make up.

Later that night, they convene at Ray's former trailer. Sweet, oblivious, ditzy Lucy shows up and lets the proverbial cat out of the proverbial bag, never having been informed by Ricky a cat was in the bag. She apologizes to Ray because Ricky burned down his home while she and Ricky were banging in the back of the muffler shop. Ricky only then admits his guilt to everyone but they all freak out because he let Bubbles take the heat. Bubbles swears off Ricky's friendship, and everyone else yells at Ricky and leaves.

Background

  • Despite the fact that Bubbles warns Ricky not to refer to his friend, Bill as "Shitty", as he doesn't like the name, Bubbles immediately does this, and the trend continues throughout the rest of the series.
  • This episode reveals what year the fifth season takes place, 2005, when Ray reveals the 35 year mortgage started back in 1970 when Ray and Tammy filled out the paperwork for the trailer.
